Happy New Year Folks!

The Christmas festivities are over, the new year seen in and now I suppose it’s time to set out New Year Resolutions and all that.
I was just looking back through my bloggin’ archive and dug up last years resolutions and funnily enough I did keep them.
What did surprise me was that I have come a long way in my knitting life in just a year.

I’m also still knitting Big J’s jumper, although it has changed pattern and colour since!
I bought some cheapish yarn the other day, it’s Marble Chunky by James C Brett, 100% acrylic,

and while you’re all groaning, I am allergic to wool, and while small projects don’t bother me so much, large one’s, such as J’s jumper left me in a considerable amount of discomfort, sore hands and sneezing.
So, this one is loosely based on this pattern and is knitting up pretty quickly and I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of the month.

I also bought some Merino to knit my sister a lacy bolero/cardigan/shrug type thing.

Which brings me back to resolutions.

1: Finish projects before starting another. I’m not going to have as much knitting time as I used to, so this will be important if I want to finish anything this year!

2: Knit something for Ollie and Dylan, the girls seem to get everything.

what are your knitty plans?

Without getting to soppy, I would just like to say thank you to you all who read and comment on my blog, for the inspiration and encouragement, for the laughs and friendship. It’s a wonderful community I have found myself in and long may it last.

Finally, I leave you with a photo of Ollie, who was sneaking a little play with the decorations on the tree…

  1. Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope that 2008 is a great year for you. I gave up make resoloutions a long time ago LOL,but seeing as I quit smoking a couple of years ago can’t drink much and my diet is limited , what else is there ? ……don’t go there ;)Maybe I should just TRY and Blog more !!
I have used that J C Brett chunky and it does pill but otherwise okay, Durrow should look great in it .
How cute is Ollie , aw bless :)I think Christmas is defo at its best when yours kids are that age

  2. Happy New Year!
Are you knitting the front and back plain? I knitted (and frogged) Durrow last year because although I loved the sleeves the wide ribbing clung to me and made me look huge, obviously knitted plain they won’t do that!

  3. happy new year and i wish you luck with your resolutions. my knitting plan? not to leave anything from 2007 finished into 2009. i know i can’t limit myself to finishing one project before starting a new one, but at least i should be able to finish what i currently have before the end of the year!

that merino looks absolutely yummy, by the way – thus far, merino is my favorite for knitting with, it’s so soft.
